Maybe we can return to the good old days... a more innocent and fun time.

Personal history note: My father-in-law knew the Beach Boys when they first got together and were practicing in their garage.
Other personal history note: Though they never knew him, two of my kids went to school with the future mass murderer in Aurora, Colorado.
Still another personal history note: As a kid, I remember playing kick-the-can with a neighbor who later became a co-founder of the SLA.

When one lives in California, it is easy to cross paths of famous/infamous people.

By any chance was your father in law named Charles Manson?

Charles Manson and The Beach Boys, specifically Dennis Wilson, were indeed connected. Wilson briefly befriended Manson in 1968, even becoming fascinated with him and introducing him to the rest of the band. Manson, at the time, was seeking a music career and Wilson, impressed by Manson's songwriting, even considered signing him to the band's record label according to Wikipedia. However, the relationship was short-lived, and ultimately ended due to Manson's erratic behavior and escalating involvement with the "Family".

For the record, my parents loved the Beach Boys too.

Was that the movie theater killings? There are so many mass murders in Colorado for some reason. I remember the Columbine High School one...

In CT I have personally met a few famous people too.. Martha Stewart, Brian Cashman (New York Yankees GM), Ron Howard (lives a few miles away), the former owner of the Mets Fred Wilpon, There are a ton of famous celebrities in CT because of its proximity to NY.

I met Dick Blumenthal who is a total scumbag, and I used to live near Chris Murphy another Scum bag...

It's a very small state.

No, but he did have an unusual record of marriage.
He is the only person I know of who, not only married his mother, but his own daughter from his first wife.

Yeah.

The one that bothered me the most was my neighbor.
I knew her from elementary school through high school.
We had similar values and, though we were too young to vote, we both were active in Goldwater's campaign.
Then she went to Cal Berkeley and changed radically.
Most famously, she was one of Patty Hearst's kidnappers and later died in a shootout with SWAT.
This is one of the reasons I'm so adamant in blaming our liberal educational system for many of our problems.

Okay. You outnumber me in the famous/infamous encounters.
California doesn't have lock on them.

For your amusement, here's some commentary about our fair state.
Do Californians Realize How Badly They’re Getting Ripped Off?
FTA:
Quote
Crime:...California has the sixth-highest rate of violent crime of all 50 states.
[...snip...]
Education: If you’re a teacher, California is a great place to live. They are the highest paid in the nation and have the fourth-lowest student-to-teacher ratio. But if you’re a parent? Your children are getting screwed. Eighth-grade reading, math, science, and writing scores are significantly below the national average,
[...snip...]
Infrastructure: Despite having the nation’s highest gasoline taxes, California ranks in the bottom three when it comes to road conditions...
[...snip...]
Opportunity:...The state ranks dead last in U.S. News and World Report’s “opportunity” ranking.
...It has the highest unemployment rate in the country at 5.5%, the most people on welfare, and the most homeless people.
...It has the most progressive income tax yet is the fifth-worst state when it comes to income inequality.
...It is the least affordable state for housing.
[...snip...]
Fiscal responsibility. Incredibly, despite the fact that California is one of the highest-tax states in the nation, it ranks No. 42 in U.S. News and World Report’s ranking for fiscal stability.
[...snip...]
And just this year, the state decided to dump $282 million it doesn’t have for a special election to gerrymander its congressional districts

How about the most illegals and they most gangs.

Not to mention Hollywood is in California too.

I wouldn't visit California again if my life depended on it.

For the record:

Virginia has been going downhill for decades too. The State of Connecticut is basically a miniature California especially with regards to our politicians here.

Florida is the place to be.
